THE FACIAL PROCESS
Every 28 days, our skin goes through a cycle of shedding and renewal. During this natural process, pores can become clogged with sebum and impurities, which can lead to the formation of whiteheads, blackheads, and acne. Clogged pores also diminish the effectiveness of skin care products by preventing vital nutrients from penetrating into the skin. That is why it is very important to have a Royal Complexion Parlor Facial once a month to thoroughly extract clogged pores for optimal skin health.
The Treatments
To achieve instant visible results, facials should be enhanced with an exfoliation
and infusion treatment. Exfoliation is needed to thoroughly rid the skin of dead cells as well as soften impurities, allowing for easier extractions. Complexion is clearer and softened. Infusions will penetrate vital nutrition into the lower layers of the skin to increase cellular metabolism and rejuvenate complexion.

ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
How long do I have to let my hair grow? How do I prepare for my wax?
Please have a minimum of 2-3 weeks of hair growth after shaving. This allows for all 3 cycles of hair growth to be grown out so you will get the best wax possible. The more follicles/roots we can pull, the cleaner the wax, the longer it is going to last and the happier you are going to be! The "grow out" stage is often the most difficult step, but the longer the hair is, the cleaner the waxing will turn out. Avoid caffeine the day of your wax. Caffeine restricts blood vessels so skin does not get as much blood flow which will increase sensitivity. Taking an Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your wax will help with sensitivity and inflammation.

Should I trim my hair?
NO! You may trim too much. The longer the hair, the more the wax will adhere, the smoother your skin will become, and the longer the results will last. Your hair should be 1/4 inch or longer. Your hair needs to be long enough for the wax to adhere, two to three weeks of growth or longer is great.
I am on my cycle can I still get waxed?
Yes. If you are on your cycle just wear a tampon and be prepared to be a little more sensitive than usual. Same goes for the few days before your cycle as well.
What if I am pregnant, can I still get waxed?
Yes. You may be a little more sensitive than usual, but I regularly wax mothers-to-be up to a week before their due date! In fact, scheduling a "pre-childbirth Brazilian" is becoming almost as popular as packing an overnight bag for delivery!
Can medication affect waxing?
Yes! You CANNOT be waxed if you are taking any antibiotics, Accutane, Differin, or Retin A. Check with us if you are on any dermatological medications. Additionally, any medications that list "sun sensitivity" on the list of symptoms will preclude you from being waxed. You should also avoid waxing while using glycolic acid, harsh exfoliants or any facial peels. All these products thin out and weaken your skin making you more sensitive and likely to burn or peel. You should wait 2-6 weeks depending on how long you have been on the medication before you wax, as I want to make sure the medication is out of your system so you have a pleasant waxing experience. If you are not sure of how you may react from any other prescriptions you are taking, please give me a call beforehand so I can help you determine if you are able to get waxed.
